The idea for OluKai all started as a different approach to a footwear company. We wanted to create footwear that combines the strength and durability of a waterman’s ocean lifestyle — with an island-inspired brand rooted in sound values, style, comfort, and craftsmanship.

Today, we view our approach as part of a path; a journey that started with ancestors who have passed down stories, values, and spirit. As members of a global community — we’re all one interconnected ‘ohana (family). We believe that sustainability and positive living is less about an ethos and more about the choices that you make every day. It’s about your actions, and inspiring the actions of others. “Walking the walk,” as they say.
